Comparison · Designed in Pornichet

Xplorer V2 vs Xplorer V2 Pro Which one is for you?

Same DNA, two drivetrains. We compare everything from the motor to the noise, so you can choose the right board with confidence.

The Xplorer V2 and Xplorer V2 Pro share the same 6000 W dual motor, the same 55 km/h top speed, and the same 648 Wh battery (up to 60 km range). Their only real difference is the drivetrain: a silent and versatile belt drive on the V2, and a more robust and louder Gear Drive Gold on the Pro. Your riding style decides, not the price.

The common points

An identical foundation

Xplorer V2's 6000W Brushless Motors

6000 W dual motor and 4 modes

Both boards feature two 6374 brushless motors for a combined 6000 W, managed by an E.FOC 70A controller with regenerative braking. This allows you to unleash full power from the start, reaching up to 55 km/h in unrestricted Sport mode.

To progress at your own pace, four modes can be set via the remote control: Low, Eco, Sport, and Sport+. In Low, you're limited to 13-14 km/h with very gentle acceleration, giving you time to get a feel for the board. Sport+ then unleashes the full 6000 W and 55 km/h.

Xplorer V2's Samsung 50S 648 Wh Battery

648 Wh battery, up to 60 km

The 648 Wh Samsung 50S battery (50.4 V, 15 Ah) boasts 40 km of range off-road on pneumatic wheels and up to 60 km on street wheels, for a rider of about 70 kg on a bike path. In practice, expect more like 25 to 40 km depending on your weight, riding style, and wheels. A full recharge takes 4 hours.

The real difference

Belt or Gear Drive?

Xplorer V2: Belt drive

Silent and durable, it makes wheel changes quick and easy, in just a few minutes. This is a real everyday advantage: you can keep a set of street wheels for city riding during the week and an all-terrain set for the weekend, switching between them effortlessly.

Its only limitation: on rocky off-road terrain, a trapped debris can cause it to snap suddenly. It's a wear part that can be replaced in minutes, and our tutorials on the channel detail everything.

Xplorer V2 Pro: Gear Drive

Gear against gear, metallic gears instead of a belt. Nothing gets in, neither dust nor pebbles, so you won't break down mid-session, even in challenging off-road conditions or during slides.

In return: a little grease needs to be reapplied every 1500 km or so, wheel changes are more involved, and operation is noisier. It's heavier than the belt drive, but significantly more robust.

Two different acceleration sensations

The belt delivers smoother, less abrupt acceleration, especially as it loosens up a bit over time. The Gear Drive transmits power directly: it's perfectly controllable but a bit more immediate, requiring a few kilometers to get used to.

In terms of noise, the V2 remains discreet, while the Pro is more audible, which some riders appreciate for being noticed by passers-by. Both have the same power: the right choice depends on your terrain and how often you change wheels, as detailed below.

Under your feet

The riding sensations

The same shape on both, so the glide is identical. The thrust, however, depends on the drivetrain.

A stable chassis built to last

The dropdown deck lowers the center of gravity. The board gains stability at high speed and provides a true sense of control, a feature that reassures both beginners and experienced riders.

Double kingpin trucks offer a short turning radius at low speed and precise carving once you're moving. The board remains neutral and predictable when exiting turns, without any unwanted steering input.

The V2 and V2 Pro share the same shape, offering an identical glide. The difference lies in the transmission: the V2's belt drive softens torque delivery for progressive acceleration, while the V2 Pro's Gear Drive responds more directly and reactively to the throttle. From the very linear Low mode to full-power Sport+, the regenerative braking remains firm and controllable.

Versatility

Wheels: a virtually unlimited playground

Evo-Spirit Xplorer V2 Seen from Below, with All-Terrain Wheels and Bamboo Deck

Up to 9 wheel sizes for the V2

The Xplorer V2 accommodates up to 9 wheel types: 6, 7, and 8-inch pneumatics for all-terrain, puncture-proof and Airless for zero maintenance, and street and Soft Rubber for urban longboarding. Thanks to the conversion kit, you can completely change the board's behavior depending on the terrain and your mood.

The V2 Pro remains very versatile with 6 compatible sizes, but its Gear Drive makes switching between wheel types more technical than with the belt. If frequently alternating between street and all-terrain is part of your riding style, the V2 has the advantage here.

What the V2 Pro adds

Xplorer V2 Pro's Deck and Gold Anodized Finishes

Anodized Gold finishes

The motor and battery specs are the same, but the Pro gets a Gold upgrade: motor end caps, wheel and truck hardware, grip striping, top plate engraving, and an Evo-Spirit logo engraved on the trucks. The deck features a dark finish with Gold details, and an additional set of soft performance bushings is included.

Xplorer V2 Pro's Gold CNC Aluminum Remote Control

A Gold CNC remote control casing

The remote control gets a matching Gold CNC aluminum casing: better protected in case of a fall, with improved grip thanks to screws positioned for your fingers, whether you have large or small hands. It's added aesthetics and comfort – it's up to you to decide what appeals to you.

FAQ

Frequent Questions

Evo-Spirit has been designing and testing its all-terrain electric skateboards in Pornichet (Loire-Atlantique) since 2007. The Xplorer V2 and Xplorer V2 Pro share the same 6000 W dual motor, 55 km/h top speed, and 648 Wh battery. They differ only in transmission (belt or Gear Drive) and finishes. Both come with a 2-year warranty (battery, motors, labor), with parts available up to 10 years after purchase and after-sales support directly from the Pornichet workshop. The answers below cover the most frequent questions: differences, transmission, range, maintenance, weight, uses, and warranty.

Xplorer V2 or V2 Pro: what's the real difference?

The only real difference between the Xplorer V2 and the Xplorer V2 Pro is the transmission: the V2 uses a belt (silent, wheel changes in minutes), while the V2 Pro uses a Gear Drive (more robust, maintenance every 1500 km, louder). The V2 Pro also features Gold finishes and a remote control with a CNC shell. The 6000 W motors, 55 km/h speed, 648 Wh battery, and chassis are identical.

Is the V2 Pro faster or more powerful?

No, the Xplorer V2 Pro is neither faster nor more powerful than the V2. Both share the same 6000 W dual motor, 55 km/h top speed, and 648 Wh battery. The Pro is distinguished only by its Gear Drive transmission and Gold finishes, not by its performance.

Belt or Gear Drive: which lasts longer?

The Xplorer V2 Pro's Gear Drive lasts longer in demanding conditions: nothing penetrates the gears, and it handles aggressive all-terrain riding and sliding without breaking, requiring only simple greasing every 1500 km. The V2's belt is a wear part that can break on a stone, but it can be replaced in minutes for a low cost.

Can you ride the V2 Pro in the city?

Yes, but the Xplorer V2 is better suited for city riding than the V2 Pro. The V2 is quieter and allows you to switch to street wheels in minutes. On the V2 Pro, the Gear Drive transmission is louder, and changing wheels is more involved. For predominantly urban use, we recommend the V2.

What range and speed for the Xplorer V2?

The Xplorer V2 reaches 55 km/h in Sport mode and offers 40 km of all-terrain range, up to 60 km with street wheels, thanks to its 648 Wh Samsung 50S battery. In practice, expect 25 to 40 km depending on rider weight, elevation, power mode, and frequency of stops. A full recharge takes 4 hours.

Are these skateboards suitable for beginners?

Yes, the Xplorer V2 and V2 Pro are suitable for beginners thanks to their 4 power modes. Low mode limits speed to 13-14 km/h with very progressive acceleration, ideal for getting used to the board before moving to Eco, Sport, then Sport+. The wide dropdown deck provides reassuring stability.

Does the Gear Drive require a lot of maintenance?

No, the Xplorer V2 Pro's Gear Drive requires very little maintenance: a simple greasing approximately every 1500 km, with no belt to tension or replace. Evo-Spirit tutorials detail the operation, which is easy to do yourself.

Where are the Xplorer V2s designed and repaired?

The Xplorer V2 and V2 Pro are designed and tested in Pornichet (Loire-Atlantique) since 2007. Evo-Spirit is a French brand: the workshop and after-sales support are directly reachable, parts are delivered in 48 to 72 hours, with a 2-year warranty and parts available 10 years after purchase.

What is the weight difference between the V2 and V2 Pro?

The V2 Pro's Gear Drive is slightly heavier than the V2's belt, but the difference is small and has no noticeable impact on the ride. Both boards share the same 98 cm dropdown deck and chassis. The extra weight comes from the metal gear transmission, which is more robust than the belt.

Is the Xplorer V2 Pro suitable for freeride and sliding?

Yes, the Xplorer V2 Pro is best suited for freeride and sliding thanks to its Gear Drive transmission, which handles aggressive all-terrain riding without risk of breakage, where a belt might suffer. Its maintenance is limited to greasing approximately every 1500 km.

Can street wheels be mounted on the Xplorer V2 Pro?

Yes, the Xplorer V2 Pro accepts 6 wheel sizes, including street wheels, but switching between types is more technical than with the V2's belt. For frequent alternation between street and all-terrain, the Xplorer V2 and its 9 compatible sizes remain more practical.

What is the warranty on the Xplorer V2 and V2 Pro?

The Xplorer V2 and V2 Pro come with a 2-year warranty on the battery, motors, and labor. Original parts remain available for up to 10 years after purchase, and after-sales support is provided directly by the Evo-Spirit workshop in Pornichet, with parts delivered within 48 to 72 hours.

In summary, the Xplorer V2 is the versatile choice for city riding and riders who frequently switch wheels, while the Xplorer V2 Pro is for committed all-terrain, freeride, and Gold style.
