Electric Skateboards in Slovenia
Regulations 2026
Slovenia has a clear legal framework for motorized personal mobility devices. Here are the rules you need to know to ride your e-skate legally.
🧭 Official Status
In Slovenia, electric skateboards are classified as special electric devices.
Even if not directly mentioned in the law, they benefit from a recognized legal framework similar to that of scooters.
⚙️ Legal Requirements
Top speed: 25 km/h (or less depending on local rules).
Bike paths: allowed.
Sidewalks: permitted only at walking speed, always giving priority to pedestrians.
Roadway: possible if no bike path or sidewalk is available, especially in residential areas.
Lighting: front and rear lights are mandatory when visibility is low.
Slovenia adopts a flexible but responsible approach: riding is authorized, provided speed, visibility, and the safety of other users are respected.
L'essentiel
E-skates are authorized in Slovenia within a rather favorable framework, but vigilance remains essential.
Riding with respect for others and staying visible is key to continuing to enjoy electric skateboarding with peace of mind.
