Poland has a clear legal framework for motorised personal transport devices. Here are the rules you need to know to ride your e-skate legally.
🧭 Official Status
Poland is one of the few European countries to have integrated electric skateboards into law.
They belong to the category of UTOs (Personal Transport Devices), with precise rules for their daily use.
⚙️ Legal Conditions
Top speed: 20 km/h on cycle paths.
Pavements: only permitted at walking speed, with full priority given to pedestrians.
Roadway: prohibited.
Minimum age: 10 years old with a cyclist's card or licence (AM, A1, B1, T).
→ Prohibited for those under 10 on public ways.18 years and over: no licence required.

🚫 Passengers, animals, or bulky objects.
🚫 Phone in hand while riding.
🚫 Towing another vehicle.

Permitted on pavements if no dedicated spaces exist, provided you:
park the skateboard parallel to the edge of the pavement,
leave a minimum of 1.5 metres for pedestrians to pass.
In case of non-compliance, the device may be removed at the owner's expense.
