Electric Skateboarding in Greece
2026 Regulations
In Greece, regulations for electric skateboards are still unclear. Here's what we know and our advice for riding safely.
📋 Total Legal Ambiguity
Electric skateboards are not yet covered by Greek law.
A reform is underway to regulate new mobility devices, but no official date has been announced.
🧭 Official Status
On sidewalks: tolerated only at walking speed (≤ 6 km/h).
On the road: informal tolerance is possible up to 25 km/h, by analogy with bicycles.
Mandatory labeling for electric vehicles: a permanent plate or label must indicate the manufacturer's name, top speed, and an identification number.
📋 In Practice
E-skates have no official legal framework.
They are therefore considered illegal on public roads, but sometimes tolerated at low speed, depending on the area and the discretion of local authorities.
📋 📌 Rider Tips
Keep your speed reduced (6 to 20 km/h max).
Avoid main roads and prioritize quiet pedestrian or private areas.
Install lighting and manufacturer markings if possible.
Ride with caution and discretion, as enforcement can be strict in cases of misuse.
L'essentiel
In Greece, e-skates remain in a legal gray area:
tolerated at low speed, but not authorized on public roads.
Until the law evolves, the safest approach is to ride with caution, prioritizing private or secure spaces.
🛹 What Evo-Spirit Offers
