Evo-Spirit designs and repairs its electric skateboards in Pornichet (Loire-Atlantique) since 2007. The brand offers 8 models (electric cruiser, longboards, and mountainboards) from €790 to €2.390. All are covered by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty (battery, motor, and labour), with original spare parts available for at least 10 years after purchase. After-sales support is provided directly by the Pornichet workshop, reachable by phone or email from Monday to Friday. More than 4.000 riders use their boards daily. The answers below address the most frequent questions: range, speed, model choice, regulations, and maintenance.
What is the real-world range of the Switcher V3 City?
The range of the Switcher V3 City varies from 25 to 35 km depending on the battery chosen and riding conditions. With the Standard battery 7.5 Ah (277 Wh), expect 20 to 25 km in real-world urban use. With the High-capacity battery 14 Ah (504 Wh, Samsung cells, made in France), the range increases to 30 to 35 km, which means a 15 km round trip commute without recharging. These values correspond to a 75 kg rider on flat terrain in Normal mode. Hills, Sport mode, and low temperatures reduce the range. Regenerative braking recovers energy with each deceleration, extending the range in urban stop-and-go use. The High-capacity battery is guaranteed for 2 years, the Standard for 1 year.
Is the Switcher V3 City suitable for beginners?
Yes, the Switcher V3 City is one of the most recommended Evo-Spirit models for starting out in the city, thanks to its lightness (8.5 kg) and progressive riding modes. Eco mode limits the speed to approximately 15 km/h and softens accelerations, allowing you to get to grips with the board safely. Normal mode goes up to 25 km/h, then Sport mode offers the full performance of the 2 000W motors up to 39 km/h. The street wheels offer good grip on dry asphalt, and the adjustable trucks adapt to the rider's weight. Its compact size makes it easy to handle in tight spaces and on public transport. The Evo-Spirit team in Pornichet (02 40 22 16 22) supports every beginner in getting started.
What is the difference between the Bamboo and Carbon deck?
The two decks of the Switcher V3 City, Bamboo & Fibreglass and Bamboo & Carbon, differ in their flex, rigidity, and the ride feel they provide. The Bamboo & Fibreglass deck is more flexible and absorbs vibrations better on uneven asphalt, an advantage on Parisian roads or cobbled areas. It is recommended for daily commutes and riders who prioritise comfort. The Bamboo & Carbon deck is 300 g lighter and significantly stiffer: accelerations are more direct and trajectories more precise, at the cost of a little more feedback through your feet. Both decks are fully compatible with the same motors, trucks, and wheels of the Switcher V3 City.
Is the Switcher V3 City easy to transport?
Yes, the Switcher V3 City was specifically designed for urban mobility: with a weight starting at 8.5 kg, it can be carried by hand or in its supplied carry bag effortlessly. The included bag is compatible with metros, RER, trams, and buses; the board fits through turnstiles and under seats. Its deck length is optimised for being transported upright in carriages during peak hours. The battery can be removed to lighten the board during transport or to charge it separately (office, meeting room). This modularity makes the Switcher V3 City an ideal companion for multimodal home-to-work commutes.
What is the warranty?
The Switcher V3 City is covered by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty on the High-capacity battery 14 Ah, the belt motors, the deck, and labour. The Standard battery 7.5 Ah is guaranteed for 1 year. In case of a breakdown, the Evo-Spirit after-sales support workshop at 2C avenue du Gulf Stream, 44380 Pornichet, handles diagnosis and repair free of charge during the warranty period. The average repair time is 3 to 5 working days. For riders outside Pays de la Loire, shipping by carrier is possible. After the warranty, all spare parts, motors, batteries, controller, trucks, wheels, belts, remain individually available for at least 10 years. Contact: 02 40 22 16 22 or info@evo-spirit.com.
What is the legal top speed on public roads?
This board is limited to 25 km/h by software settings, in accordance with French EDPM regulations. It is legal on public roads, cycle paths, and areas authorised by municipalities. To ride, third-party liability insurance is mandatory. Helmet use is recommended and compulsory outside urban areas. Front/rear lighting and an audible warning device are required for night riding. The legal minimum age is 14. The limitation does not alter the mechanics or the range.
Can the Switcher V3 City go in reverse?
Yes, reverse is activated directly from the Switcher V3 City's Bluetooth remote control, by electronically reversing the rotation direction of the belt motors. Reverse speed is deliberately limited to ensure safety, especially in dense urban environments. This function is particularly practical for manoeuvres in confined spaces, narrow cycle lanes, car parks, or turning in front of a gate. It is available on all versions (Sport and EDPM) without any specific configuration. The included remote control includes this function as standard via a dedicated button. Please note: reverse is not permitted on public roads for EDPM versions.
